Fight Night Program – Week of Dec. 8-13
The weekend is approaching, and from Friday to Sunday it will be “fight-o-clock” somewhere in the world. Every Thursday, The Ring will bring you the most up-to-date information on the most relevant fights you need to see in this week-at-a-glance, one-stop enhanced fight schedule. A quick checklist for the cognoscenti, a useful nuts-and-bolts guide for the boxing neophyte is what we’re aiming at.
Here are this week’s most relevant fights:

Where to watch it: BxngTV
Saturday, December 9 – Chase Center, San Francisco
Regis Prograis vs. Devin Haney – junior welterweight – 12 rounds
Fight of the week, and serious candidate to fight of the year, if it turns out as expected. These two have been wanting to get in that ring for a while now, and the grudge match (Haney’s debut at this weight) could turn out to produce a memorable fight. The clash of styles is compelling enough to expect at least that. Blink not, my friends.
Also on this card:
Liam Paro vs. Montana Love – junior welterweight – 12 rounds
Andy Cruz vs. Jovanni Straffon – lightweight – 10 rounds
Ebanie Bridges vs. Miyo Yoshida – women’s bantamweight – 10 rounds
Amari Jones vs. Quilisto Madera – middleweight – 8 rounds

Shamar Canal vs. Jose Meza – junior lightweight – 6 rounds
Where to watch it: DAZN PPV
Saturday, December 9: Pembroke Pines, Fla.
Robeisy Ramirez vs. Rafael Espinoza – featherweight – 12 rounds
Cuba’s Ramirez was one of the most decorated amateurs for his country when he defected and started his pro career on the wrong foot with an untimely defeat. But he owns a WBO belt now, and is throwing it around in his attempt to challenge the big names in his division. Espinoza should be a good test at this stage.
Also on this card:
Xander Zayas vs. Jorge Fortea – junior middleweight – 10 rounds
Bruce Carrington vs. Jason Sanchez – featherweight – 10 rounds
Jahi Tucker vs. Francisco Daniel Veron – junior middleweight – 8 rounds
Richard Torrez Jr. vs. Curtis Harper – heavyweight – 8 rounds
Rohan Polanco vs. Keith Hunter – junior welterweight – 8 rounds
Tiger Johnson vs. Jimmerr Espinosa – junior welterweight – 8 rounds

Where to watch it: Fox Deportes
Saturday, December 9 – Pullman Hotel, Albert Park, Australia
Andrew Moloney vs. Judy Flores – junior bantamweight – 10 rounds
Moloney is coming off a heartbreaking loss in a title bout in his previous encounter, and is in bad need of a feel-good win in front of his countrymen to psyche himself up for a new title run.
Also on this card:
Luke Gersbeck vs. Haiz Huria – junior middleweight – 6 rounds
Campbell Somerville vs. Micah Rivetti – junior middleweight – 6 rounds
Chloe Chaos vs. Caitlin Beckett, 6 rounds women’s super middleweight – 6 rounds

Derrick Webster vs. Cleotis Pendarvis – super middleweight – 8 rounds
Sunday, December 10 – International Center, Bournemouth, England
Chris Billam-Smith vs. Mateusz Masternak – cruiserweight – 12 rounds
Billam-Smith claims he’s ready to make the maiden defense of his WBO belt after a somewhat controversial title bout, and Masternak is fighting for a title for the first time in a 17-year career, so the sense of urgency will be present in both of them. An intriguing clash, no doubt.
